About ORVSD

A free online resource for Oregon’s public school teachers

Technology opens doors for engaging students, expanding curriculum and raising achievement. It offers solutions that help teachers spend more time doing what matters most—teaching.

Oregon Virtual School District (ORVSD) helps integrate technology into Oregon public school classrooms by giving teachers access to free tech tools and resources online.

ORVSD starts with teachers, helping them deliver content to students and share innovative teaching strategies with educators across the state. But it doesn’t stop there. Students use ORVSD to supplement their classes with videos, podcasts and other online resources. Parents and community members interact with teachers and collaborate with students as experts in their field. This collaboration breaks down the four walls of the classroom to create a truly 21st century environment for teaching and learning.

The Oregon Virtual School District is a program led by the Oregon Department of Education that, in cooperation with a consortium of virtual learning providers throughout the state, seeks to increase access and availability of online learning and teaching resources free of charge to public school teachers of Oregon. Oregon State University is providing hosting and development resources through a partnership with the OSU Open Source Lab and the OSU Business Solutions Group.
