At the end of a successful course, you will be able to
1. see writing as a means of discovering, ordering, understanding, and sharing human experience;
2. plan, write, and edit argumentative and persuasive essays;
3. recognize valid logic in the writing of others and incorporate it in your own writing;
4. use effective organizational patterns and rhetorical strategies in your writing;
5. critically evaluate argumentative prose; understand and use MLA and APA formats for giving credit to your sources;
6. recognize and use scholarly journals in providing backing for your claims
